Kindergarten building work
Posted on March 4th, 2012 in Uncategorized | No Comments »
The kindergarten was a hive of activity this weekend with Christiane and fellow Lazure painters making the kindergarten look beautiful with this special technique of painting. The room looks so much warmer and inviting!
Damien was also hard at work on the digger making our new carpark, and Will was making the outdoor steps.
Meredith was also there tidying and organising the office.
We are so lucky to have such generous people giving of their time and expertise to help create a beautiful space for our tamariki. Thank you to everyone!

BOIWET News
Posted on April 26th, 2011 in Education, NOTICES | No Comments »
I hope you have all enjoyed relaxing and rewarding summer holidays which have recharged you for a busy year in 2011. There are lots of changes taking place in our community so before we get too far into the year it is important that we gather as a group and talk through our group’s goals, aspirations and hopes and, since we live in the real world, to voice any fears or concerns.
Please join BOIWET at the Fibres building, Mahoe Farm, at 2pm, Sunday 6 March to discuss how we want our community to grow in 2011. Please bring a plate for a shared afternoon tea.
Here is a quick summary of developments since our last gathering, just before Christmas.
Olivia is leading the charge to get the kindergarten at Mahoe up and running. Currently BOIWET is waiting for NZTA (Transit) to agree that the traffic movements to and from the kindergarten will not pose any safety problems. We have paid for and submitted an engineer’s traffic report demonstrating that this is the case. Once Transit sign off on this issue we can apply for resource consent, building consent and then renovate the Fibres building for the kindergarten.
We have applied for funding from several bodies. So far, the ASB have granted us $20,000 to set up the kindergarten which will be very helpful. [It is also worth remembering that the ASB granted BOIWET a sizeable grant for equipment back in the days of the cottage in Waikaramu Road. They have been very supportive over the years.]
Mark Thornton, an executive from the Federation of Rudolf Steiner Schools in NZ visited us on a speaking tour of Northland. He reiterated that the Federation is very supportive of new initiatives and volunteered help and advice to BOIWET as we work to open Mahoe Kindergarten.
Trusting and believing that all our consent applications will go smoothly, BOIWET and Christiane are now aiming to open the kindergarten for term III on 1 August.

Kindergarten Update
Posted on April 26th, 2011 in Education, NOTICES | No Comments »
Work is underway to open a Steiner Kindergarten at Mahoe Farm, Oromahoe, next year. We have a lovely teacher, Christiane Riegger, and a wonderful building which will be the home of the kindergarten. The kindergarten will be for 3 and a half to 6 year olds. We will have a stall at the Waimate North Show on November 13th to help fundraise, as there is work to be done and equipment to be purchased before we can open.
If you are interested in a Steiner early childhood education for your child, or would like to donate your time or money to our kindergarten fund, please contact us!
